Starting in 2010, government reimbursements to hospitals and physicians
who are not participating in the federal e-record effort will
begin to decline. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
found, in response to a mail
survey last year that 38.4 percent of physicians reported using full or
partial e-records system, not counting billing, in their office-based
practices. About 20.4% reported using a system described as minimally
functional and including the following features: orders for
prescriptions, orders for tests, viewing laboratory or imaging results,
and clinical notes. Comparable figures for the 2006 NAMCS, the latest
available for the full survey, were 29.2% and 12.4%, respectively (1).
This is up from
25 percent in 2005.

Emerging
Technology is also a true records and information management
organization, unlike the days in the past where the primary goal of any
records management company was to provide
offsite storage
facilities. Services and processes have changed now to
include such things as offsite vault storage and offsite media storage,
a sure sign that things have moved forward with the proliferation of
vault and media storage. Tapes are sent off-site for security and
disaster recovery purposes, thus allowing a business to be safe in the
knowledge that they will be able to recover quickly and seamlessly from
any disaster.
Records Storage services should not be confused with General Storage, there are
many cases where clients will come toEmerging Technology Corporation
having used a Storage company only to find their precious documents,
files, records and information have been stored in unsuitable conditions
resulting in loss or damage to their information. Emerging Technology
Corporation has pioneered the facilitation of physical and digital
records storage utilizing the most state-of-the-art technologies and
